Saturday Night and Sunday Morning – A New Musical

Enjoyed the privilege last night of photographing a wonderful show about to be unleashed as a world premiere on the people of Nottingham!

The muscial version of Saturday Night and Sunday Morning was written in 1958 by Nottingham’s own Alan Sillitoe and was converted into a successful and much-loved film in 1960, featuring Albert Finney as one of the original anti-heroes – Arthur Seaton. The musical version was written by Cathy Spoors with music and additional lyrics written by Stephen Williams, continuing in the tradition of Nottingham people carrying the flag for this great story.

Despite the fact I was working last night – constantly thinking about lights, framing, composition etc – I had a fantastic time listening to a wonderful cast and orchestra bringing this story to life on stage. The show runs 7th-12th May at Nottingham Playhouse, and I would encourage you all to get down and see it if you can – click here to buy your tickets online.
